Now I have to tell you the truth. The reality is that you will have to put in the work if you are serious about earning cash with any of these ways. There are clever ways to make money online if you are up for the challenge!
If you are still a student, a stay-at-home mum (or dad), or are looking for alternative ways to make money online, I have got you covered! Let’s delve in.
22 Ways to Make Money Online in a Single Day
Coaching will work for anyone who is an expert in a specific field. The internet is an incredible tool for you to build a coaching business. I stumbled on this by accident. As I created my blog and my brand, a fair number of people started reaching out to me. They wanted to know my secret, how I did it, and how they could apply the same secret to their own business. For a time, I gave out advice for free but, I eventually started charging a consulting fee.
How much you earn depends on the type of niche you operate. According to recent statistics, executive coaches receive about $325 per hour while business coaches a little above $235 per hour. Life coaches, on the other hand, charge close to $160 per hour.
The bottom line here is if you are an expert in your field and people are always asking to “pick your brain,” it is a sign you should start charging people.
2: Sponsored Posts
You can get paid for talking about a product or service on a company’s website. How much can you earn? Alexis Schroeder of FITnancials says she earns $3,000 per month with sponsored posts. You can make more with high-traffic blogs. They may be willing to pay as high as $20,000 per sponsored post or even more.
But here is a caution: If you plan to do sponsored posts, it is advisable to work with only the companies you believe in and feel good promoting. If you publicize anything from anyone, chances are you will lose the trust of your readers. So make damn sure they are well aligned with your values.
3: Google Adsense
When I started my blog, I faced a lot of restrictions because of my job. So the only way I thought I could monetize my blog was by using Google Adsense. To use this strategy, you simply sign up, and Google gives you a code that you can copy and paste onto your website. That’s all. Google does the rest. You get paid any time someone clicks on the ads on your website and/or makes a purchase.
But you have to keep this one thing in mind: the ads on my website were for financial products because I was in that niche. These products pay relatively well. If your blog is in a different niche like food or fashion, google will display related products.
4: Display Ads
Display ads are similar to Google Adsense, except that your website visitor does not have to click on the ad before you can make money. Display ads are like billboards on the side of the highway, but this time they are on your websites.
The cool thing with display ads is that you get paid based on the number of times your ads are viewed. So if you have a high-traffic website, this will most likely increase your earning potential over time.
5: Freelance Writing
You can take up freelance writing if you do not mind earning some money with a little more work. One plus with freelance writing is that you gain exposure when you write for large websites.
My first writing job got me $50 per article. That is not a lot of money if you ask me, but the gig offered me the opportunity to improve my writing skills and get my name out there. But, I know plenty of freelance writers earning $250, $500, and even $1,000 or more per article then.
Even now, some freelance writers I know earn six figures or more writing from the comfort of their home each year. An example is blogger Holly Johnson. Amazingly he makes well over $200,000 per year writing articles for other websites.
6: Affiliate Marketing
Affiliate marketing can change your income in a matter of weeks. If you are looking for a lucrative way to make money online, this is the answer. Most companies pay very decent money if you are willing to promote them.
Granted, the type of affiliates you work with will depend on the niche you are in. But then some companies will pay you up to $100 per conversion. If you still have a shred of doubt, check out Making Sense of Cents. Michelle Schroeder-Gardner, the brain behind this blog and the founder of the course, Making Sense of Affiliate Marketing, consistently earns well over 100,000 dollars per month.
7: Getting New Clients for Your Business
This will work very well for you if you have a service-based business of any kind. Start a blog or build an online presence that you can use to get new clients. This can help you grow your client base. And take it from someone who knows it is way more fun than cold-calling or holding boring seminars.
When I started my blog, I used my website as a marketing tool to get new clients for my business. The strategy worked like magic. My online presence helped me build my authority in my niche and reach people I may not have gained otherwise.
8: Selling Leads
If you own a lead generation website for your business, you will soon find out you are getting more leads than you can handle. This provides another business opportunity for you. Here is why:
There are a handful of insurance companies willing to pay for leads generated through your website. These companies can pay between $35 to $100 per lead, insane?
There are plenty of avenues and lead generation strategies out there, so make sure to consider all the possibilities.
9: Text Links
If you do not know what text links are, they have simply highlighted words you can click to take you to another web page. You can find them in almost every article on the web. Maybe you do not know it there are plenty of companies who are willing to part with $100, $200, and even $1,000 or more for you to link from your website to theirs. I got a few companies that paid me $100 or more just for inserting a link into one of my blog posts. Crazy right? But it happens.
For your information, there is a tiny problem with earning this way. It is against Google’s terms and conditions. And doing this consistently could harm your website in the long run.
To this end, selling text links is not a good monetization strategy for the long term. While you can do it once from time to time, you will live to regret it if you overdo it.
10: Digital Products
Digital products could be printables like budget templates, meal plans, checklists, videos, or anything that can be consumed online.
There are a ton of digital products out there, but the truth is there is always room for more.
Lots of online entrepreneurs create digital products their customers can print at home. The thing is, you can make an additional $1500 to $2000 per month passively. You can find examples on Etsy.com.
11: Deliver items for people
Now here is the thing, you are only required to deliver items intended for the same direction as you. All you have to do is pick the package along the way and drop it off at its intended destination. This is a decent way to earn passive income.
12: Online Courses
You can make almost any digital product on your own. From a PDF to a video series, to a course – whatever you match your business model. But then, if you decide to create a course, make sure it is of premium quality. If you go on selling crap, you will rapidly lose credibility.
The post, how much YouTubers make, shows how YouTube stars have their own. A good example is famous real estate YouTuber Graham Stephan who earns a lot of money selling real estate courses. If you are wondering how he earns so much for selling courses? Understand that his introductory courses start at $497 each. And he can boast of several others.
13: Investment Gains
Like anyone else, you can set up an online brokerage account and buy ETFs or stocks. And earning this way is one of my favorites because it is passive.
Keep in mind that it is necessary to have conventional investments besides an online business to boost your passive income. Opening an account with Scottrade, TD Ameritrade, or another online brokerage is a clever way to go.
There are so many ways to invest online these days that there is no excuse not to.
14: Peer-to-Peer Lending
Websites like Lending Club connect borrowers and investors for mutually beneficial financial transactions. From an investing perspective, you can donate to crowdsourced loans for people who want to borrow money all over the United States. The returns on these loans tend to be high, and you can utilize these platforms to create additional passive income for yourself while also supporting someone.
If you are thinking about the peer-to-peer lending platforms you should sign up for, check out David Gallan’s research. He dove deep into some exciting peer-to-peer investment options a few years ago.
15: Crowdfunded Real Estate Investing
While there are plenty of real estate investment options out there, you might want to check out Fundrise.com. Fundrise allows you to add money to your account, and investors (professionals and not random gurus) will invest your money on your behalf with dividends. So if you want to invest in real estate and do not want the hassles associated with being a landlord this is a good option. You can start with as little as $500.
16: Sponsored Social Shares
If you have an active community on social media ( like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram), companies are willing to pay you to post about them. Sponsored social shares are similar to sponsored posts on a blog.
People get paid some fat cash to post pictures and talk about things like rugs, furniture, and kid’s clothing. It just looks crazy to me how much money you can earn from doing this, and, amazingly, the kinds of stuff people will pay for!
17: Selling Stuff Online
Another way you can make money online is by selling stuff online. People sell stuff online through different Facebook groups all the time. So, if you have items to sell and do not mind spending some time creating free ads on Facebook, selling stuff is a great way to make more money online.
18: Sell a Physical Product
Selling physical products can also help you earn solid money. Be sure to explore the different products that you could sell. It could be dropshipping products or putting your products up for sale.
For example, many popular YouTubers have stores where they sell physical products. Jeffree Star, for instance, sells makeup, and Jake Paul sells all kinds of fan gear via his online store. If you head to Etsy.com, you will find several entrepreneurs selling homemade soaps, unique home decor, T-shirts, and pretty much anything sellable.
19: YouTube Ads
With YouTube ads, I started making $5,000 per $6,000 a month! The good thing about YouTube ads is that they are easy to set up. All you have to do is turn on ads every time you post a video. You can earn additional money with this strategy as your audience grows.
20: Buying and Selling Websites
People buy and sell websites for different reasons. And if you know what to look for, you can effortlessly obtain a website that can help you earn some income by the side over time. If you are interested in buying a website, you can check out websites and URLs currently for sale at Flippa.com.
21: Brand Sponsorships
This strategy works in parallel with sponsored posts, but it is much more complicated. Many brands may want more than a sponsored post when working with you. They are often willing to pay for these extra services, which cut across written content, social shares, videos, and more.
While these sponsorship packages can be lucrative, they can also be a massive pain in the ass! But, if you are willing to make an all-out effort and you have a large following, you can consider brand sponsorships as yet another way to make money online.
22: Book or eBook
Have you ever considered writing a book? The plus is that book sales can go on for years if the information stays relevant. And, you can write a book about any topic you want! If you are interested in any topic, idea, or hobby chances are other people are too.
These are only some of the numerous ways you can make money online. If you need to earn more passive income, recall the different ways you can make money online. Granted, most of these strategies may not sound like much fun to you, but chances are one of these ideas is perfect for your goals.
